We are delighted to announce that Neill Sproull, Service Manager—Technician Support Service, Glasgow City Council, has been awarded the 2025 SSERC Honorary Fellowship.
The award was made in recognition of his outstanding service to STEM education and training, specifically relating to the vital work undertaken by schools and college technicians in Scotland to ensure the place of practical STEM-based activity in the curriculum supported by key health and safety practices.
This award also pays recognition to the critical work that school and college technicians play in ensuring that practical STEM-based activities can be undertaken in the classroom, and for which, as a profession, are significantly undervalued and their contribution to Scottish education overlooked in many cases.
